RIESTER Opens Washington D.C. Office
Published on April 28, 2020
RIESTER marked its 31st year with the opening of its new advocacy communications arm in Washington, D.C., expanding the reach and influence of the firm.
RIESTER Public Affairs, in Washington, D.C., is a women-majority owned and managed firm, led by international research and branding expert Mirja Riester, and Summer Johnson and Robert Johnson, two Washington, D.C. public affairs and public relations veterans.
This is Robert’s second time advancing the causes of RIESTER clients. Two decades ago, he led the RIESTER Public Relations Department in Phoenix.
The team will develop and provide expert advocacy communications, media relations, crisis management, executive positioning, mobile journalism, and podcast services to nationally-focused clients in Washington, D.C. and across the United States. RIESTER’s D.C. team is currently working around the clock, assisting clients with national crisis communications needs during the COVID pandemic.
RIESTER aims to give clients an edge they need when competing in a crowded messaging field, whether they need to advance a message or position, or influence the policy-making process. The partnership brings together the best in research, strategic communications, creative and digital work, for the benefit of clients needing to influence lawmakers, voters, or customers.
The team will draw upon decades of experience managing political and advocacy campaigns, newsrooms and high-profile public communications departments, offering clients leadership from experienced people who have already overcome the communications challenges.
The RIESTER Public Affairs team also hosts a podcast just for the communications industry, called PR Nation. The popular show is available on podcast platforms, such as Apple, Google and Spotify, with new shows published every other Friday.
